Joseph J. Cooke

Joe has over forty years of experience in construction law, representing owners, construction managers, general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals and sureties in a variety of disputes involving delay claims, defective work, payment disputes and design issues. He has a comprehensive understanding of construction documents, industry standards, and technical issues. Joe has handled diverse construction litigation matters including a $60 million courthouse renovation in New York, the $600 million renovation of a Florida Convention Center and the $1 billion construction of a rail line extension in Massachusetts.

Outside of construction, Joe has a wide range of commercial litigation experience with a concentration on the representation of insurers in a variety of practice areas including environmental, life sciences, professional liability, surety and subrogation. On behalf of insurers, Joe handles matters as both a defendant and as a plaintiff, involving coverage issues and property damage.

Joe, an AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, acts as an arbitrator and mediator for complex construction disputes, and serves on the Construction Industry Panel of Arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association.
