Gerard Ahearn

Gerard (Gerry) Ahearn’s practice is focused in the areas of professional liability, premises liability and construction accidents, and New York Labor Law.

Gerry brings a unique combination of past experiences and practice areas to provide a valuable and unique prospective for the counseling of clients through all stages of litigation.

Prior to joining MMP&S, Gerry litigated Nursing Home Reimbursement and Recovery cases at a mid-size law firm in Lake Success, NY where he represented health care providers in complex high-value litigation and estate claims.

Before that, he worked as a Tax Associate with multiple “Big Four” Accounting Firms where he assisted large asset investment entities, corporations, and LLCs with State and Local Tax (SALT), Income Francise Tax, and Sales and Use Tax compliance matters in areas such as tax controversy advisement, tax preparation, audit defense, and various other state compliance issues.

Prior to that, Gerry gained experience with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, No-Fault Insurance, and Personal Injury Protection matters as a law clerk with a boutique firm in Melville, NY.

While in law school, Gerry was a Judicial Extern for the Honorable James Hudson, a Legal Extern with a boutique tax controversy firm in Melville, NY, and was an Intern with Suffolk County Attorney’s Office.

Gerry received his J.D. from the Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in Central Islip, NY and his B. A. in Film and Animation from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ.

He is a member of the New York State, New York City, and Suffolk County Bar Associations.
