Alex’s practice is focused on defending owners and contractors in Labor Law and premises liability cases in New York. He also maintains a substantial practice in New Jersey defending construction accident, premises liability, and construction defect matters on behalf of contractors and property owners. Alex also has experience defending claims involving claims of commercial disputes and defamation.

Alex has argued numerous motions before trial courts in both New York and New Jersey, and has perfected and argued appeals before the First and Second Departments of the New York State Appellate Division and the Appellate Division of the State of New Jersey.  Alex was the co-author of a brief in the case of Youssef v. Shri Ram Donuts, LLC, 247 N.J. 234 (2021), where the New Jersey Supreme Court granted certiorari overturning a prior Appellate Division finding in the matter and eventually leading to a case of first impression that extended New Jersey’s recently enacted “storm in progress” doctrine to lessees and snow removal contractors.

Alex received his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 2003.  He received his B.A. from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts with a double major in History and Politics in 1999. Alex is admitted to practice in the courts of the State of New York and the State of New Jersey, as well as the Federal Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the Federal District Court of New Jersey.
