Heather’s practice is focused on the representation of corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, and individuals in their real estate related needs. She regularly acts as their consultant and advocate, particularly by negotiating their contracts to achieve her client’s goals in a professional and cost-effective manner. For example, Heather regularly handles transactions regarding the formation of business entities; sales, purchases, and leasing of real estate; sales and purchases of businesses; and financing for borrowers, as well as on behalf of institutional and private lenders. Heather also handles land use matters, both on behalf of applicants and objectors. She also acts as an expert in real estate related litigation.
Heather is a frequent lecturer both in New Jersey and New York on real estate issues for both seasoned and newer attorneys addressing issues relating to contract negotiations, due diligence, ethics, and litigation avoidance. She has been selected, after an RFP process, to be the Development Counsel to the Housing Authority of the City of Jersey City, a position she has held since 2002. Commencing in 2012, Heather has also been the Trustee Representative on behalf of the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. She is also often appointed by the courts in New Jersey to serve as a commissioner in condemnation matters.
